What is EPS?
The Electronic Prescription Service allows your GP to send prescriptions directly to your chosen pharmacy. No more paper prescriptions to carry or lose.
How to Nominate Us
Ask your GP surgery to set Heaton Road Pharmacy as your nominated pharmacy, or do it yourself via the NHS App.

Open the NHS App, go to Prescriptions, then "Change nominated pharmacy" and search for Heaton Road Pharmacy.

Once you have nominated us, ordering repeat prescriptions is simple. Choose the method that works best for you:
- NHS App: Request repeats directly through the NHS App — your prescription is sent to us electronically
- In person: Drop off your repeat slip at the pharmacy and we will have it ready for you
- By phone: Call us on 0191 265 0131 and we will arrange it with your GP
- Via your GP: Contact your surgery to request repeats — they send it to us via EPS
Collection & Delivery
Choose how you receive your medication.
In-Store Collection
Collect your prescription from the pharmacy during opening hours. We aim to have repeat prescriptions ready within 24 hours of receiving them.
Local Delivery
Free prescription delivery is available for eligible patients in the local area, including housebound patients and those with mobility difficulties. Ask our team for details.
Prescription Tracking
Receive notifications when your prescription is ready for collection. Ask our team to set up SMS or phone alerts for your repeat prescriptions.
