About the Flu Jab

Why Get Vaccinated?

Flu is not just a bad cold. Influenza can cause serious illness, hospitalisation, and even death — particularly in vulnerable groups. The annual flu vaccination is the best protection available.

  • Reduces risk of catching flu by 40-60%
  • Significantly reduces severity if you do catch it
  • Protects those around you, including vulnerable family members
  • Takes about 2 weeks to build full immunity
  • New vaccine each year to match circulating strains
